Dear STACT Members and Sponsors,

I am excited to serve as the 2017 President of the Security Traders Association of Connecticut again this year. STACT looks forward to offering our members multiple networking opportunities throughout the year, as well as providing pertinent business content. We will continue to evolve with the investment management industry, both in CT and elsewhere. I’d like to thank the 2016 STACT Board for a record-breaking year in terms of membership and attendance at our events. We had a terrific Spring outing in Stamford which welcomed numerous new members and was a terrific networking event. Our annual fall outing at Foxwoods was another huge success, and we look forward to going back this year on Sept 28th and 29th so please put that in your calendars. Details will be on the website imminently, but we have already booked rooms, golf and bowling. We have some new faces on the STACT Board as David Bentley and Chris Ingrassia join the board for 2017-2019. I’d like to thank our Treasurer Pat O’Meara and Board Member Regina Frate for a job well done this year.

Looking ahead for 2017, we have a lot of new things happening. First of all, we are rolling out a new website which we are very excited about. We look forward to posting some good content along with some photos from various events. Coinciding with the website, we will be launching our social media platform to keep our members up to date on pertinent STACT events as well as other industry items. Regarding our philanthropy, we continue to support multiple Connecticut organizations. We added some new charities this year, one being Save the Sound, aka The Connecticut Fund for the Environment, based in New Haven. We also have added Near and Far Aid, based in Southport CT. We look forward to supporting these and many others over the course of the year. Review STACT Charities.

Lastly, on behalf of the whole Board, we appreciate the support of our sponsors and members. A good portion of our sponsorship & membership funds goes to support the National STA which is doing some incredible work with Washington . Along with our Fall event, you should also seriously consider attending the 84th annual Market Structure Conference presented by the National STA in Washington, DC, on September 13-15, 2017. We look forward to seeing everyone at various times throughout the year. STACT is offering attractive new levels of Connecticut STA sponsorship for 2017 available soon on our website.

Feel free to reach out to me anytime to discuss membership, ways to volunteer, ideas, or if you are interesting in potentially joining our Board. Thank you.

Best Wishes,
Brian Suth,
President STACT
